Greetings Alea,

Wave had squandered and is squandering plenty of shareholder equity. I'm not convinced the few viable products they currently possess cost that much to produce. Heck, their curent best product was purchased for $12MM (SAFEND), correct? I'm hoping someday ERAS will also receive such recognition.

I thiink the biggest user for Credant is the gov't (DAR) but if , as the rumor goes, the gov't is about to deploy SEDs, why buy Credant? Unless the gov't "suggested" Dell buy Credant to buy them time during the transition. If that were the case, why wouldn't dell get their monet's worth out of Credant and and expnad it's capabilties? And get a future product commitment back from the gov't for the "suggested" purchase?

Anywho, let's see what shakes out.

In my view, the Credant purchase should be set in the context of Dell's manouevering in between Intel and MS.

Dell clearly decided a few years ago it wanted to deliver a security service. Credant was a part of that service for many moons. They have merely brought the expertise in house. I assume the price was right.

I don't see Dell buying Credant to get into Wave's space. It costs more to make Wave's software (note balance sheet) than to buy the company.
