So what? I worked 40 years, never knowing with absolute certainty I'd have a job the next day!

Add on a few more years in the sheet metal shop where we were in IAofM, we were still on the job at the whim of the owners, management, and as it worked out there, the owners sold off to a SoCal company that only wanted the heavy machine tools, the guys left never blamed the Union, they blamed upper management as well as the owner.

You go on as though Unions run the company, and should coddle and take care of poor little ribit! You and you alone are responsible, nobody had you in leg irons. Don't like it, have the balls to move on! What a little whiner... The more I read of your BS the more I see how rediculous you are, harping on crap that's a lie to begin with, never moving on... trapped in the 50s... Get over it.

...my only problem with the union is them trading away workers jobs for union security. A lot of my friends didn't make it to retirement because of that and I lived under the shadow of the ax for the last 15 years of my career. It's not a thing ya get over or forget.
