There is a gunshow loophool and it is a big one!
The brady Act passed into law many years ago requires gun dealers to have a license and to run background checks, even at gunshows. However, fully forty percent of all transactors at gun shows do not have a licence and do not run background checks! The ATF reports that sales of guns at gunshows to those who commit crimes is the second largest source of these guns. If it were not true that forty percent of transactions at gun shows come from non licensed transactors why has the NRA worked so hard to see that the federal law banning these transactions has never gotten out of committee in Congress since 2009!
The gun lobby and those who represent them on this board will tell any lie to achieve their goal of keeping sensible regulations off of guns, even at the cost of twenty young lives with none of them being over seven years old!
