I see that I am not alone in owning firearms and disagreeing with the NRA on some points.

Funny, I've re-read my comments several times, and have yet to see where I claimed you advocated making guns illegal. I bet you will be at the head of the line turning in guns and accessories deemed 'too dangerous for civilian ownership' when the time comes.

Do you think this is a gun-ownership issue? That the fact someone owned a gun is the reason someone opted to open fire in a school?

I just think there's a whole lot more to this than gun ownership. I want to know WHY, not just HOW. Unfortunately, a lot of people tend to focus on a single aspect of such a tragedy.

What is the point of rules that are not enforced?

I've never advocated that guns should be illegal. After all, I myself have been and continue to be a lifelong gun owner. My comment was directed at how the NRA is going to rationalize that this was not a gun ownership issue nor that it is was related to the so-called 'gun culture' which they promote in this country. But from your response it appears that that you've already gotten the NRA talking-points (are you on some sort of instant-message list?).
