If you look at a map of food stamps by county, the states that have >50% food stamp users counties are mostly red states. I think Oregon has one of the highest food stamp beggar err ah recipient rates in the nation. I heard that Oregon might use that for their license plate motto, "The Food Stamp State."

However, far and away, red state - "keep the gubment otta my life" - conservatives require the most gubment help.
