that's more-or-less the model (although not the parts) of the TED talk i recently linked in which physicists penetrate the rings of an onion - each new ring resembles the previous ring but is closer to the kernel of truth.
as a dualist, i don't think you end up at a centre. i think the relativity end and the quantum end remain unreconciled. it's an opposing forces universe. we inhabit the in-between part of the spectrum. reality expresses itself to us the way things work in this balance of things.
