So far, through all the past decade, everyone in the family that wants a job, has it, other than one cousin, lady, mid 50s, they cut her hours to drop healthcare where she was, so she bailed, so far hasn't found another spot. Widowed, grown kids, she's OK financially, so not looking too seriously.. One couple, DINKs, have had to readjust, she's an HR Director, but now at a non-profit, so less that the old construction boom days, he, bioengineer, had to go with a good compny but with world travel, not what his DW wanted for him.. So far so good... But younger folks, all degreed, are doing great, raises, steadily moving up in a variety of interests, Physics, Geology, Corporate Training, Sales... The old telecom boom is gone here, but, quite a few startups, or like my SIL a survivor at Calix... We live in interesting times... But not as bad as some would have you believe...
