Hi guys!

Well, to address the question as to WHY the move back to XP Pro 32 bit from windows 7 Pro 64 bit, I simply grew weary of the amount of drag the folding was putting on the resources of me wanting to use my computer for other things, like going online to chat or look something up in the sports arena and constantly have to wait for the mouse pointer and cursor to be able to move.

I don't have that at work with the XP 32 bit machines but it has gotten worse with this windows 7 64 bot version steadily.

I finally had enough and just formatted the entire disc drive.

Well, now my folding client is not behaving and apparently windows wanted me to back off the video acceleration of the graphics card as I have been erroring out quite a bit today.

So I reset it to stock settings and backed off the memory a little as well.

Will give it a try.

It is refreshing to use the computer like now and not have pauses and delays. That is the biggest reason for the move back.

I finally today got ALL of the updates downloaded and installed including SP 3 and all the security patches.

So, the operating system should be happy. I have it set for auto updates and to install at 2:00 a.m. so what do I care? I'm sleeping.

Will just have to wait and see how it goes from here out. If I can rid of those crashes which I believe were from the video card I will have it made in the shade!

Time to go Christmas shopping with mrs. micro so I bid you all farewell and good noght!

the best.

Hi micro. Do you notice any performance change with XP 32-bit? I'm still using Windows 7 64-bit on the one desktop and haven't seen any bad folding performance though I've no comparison test. I just find Windows 7 inscrutable in the usage department.

I'm not there, but seem to be getting 8057's again just as you.
