ArVee. The 8018 couldn't start using the 2.22 version on my 64-bit machine even with a cold reboot. Am I correct in saying the only way we can conveniently tell what version we are using is by the megabytes?

I replaced the 2.22 with the prior 8.086 version and the 8018 started right away. Could it be 2.22 doesn't work for 64-bit machines? Either that or my copy got corrupted for this machine. micro, do you have an opinion?

I waited until the 7625 finished on my 32-bit machine before posting this. It got a 8018 and it took off running right away using your 2.22. The replaced version was 8.086mb so it must have been the 2.25.

Hi BAP --

So far the only series that absolutely requires 2.25 is that awful 762x series which we had a run of yesterday due to the preferred servers being out. So that's why it ran the 2.25, even d/ling it if it couldn't find it.

Everything else, at least of the stuff we deal with will run on either one but 2.22 runs much more quickly which is the reason last week or whenever it was for the commotion of getting it back if it was gone.

Avoid the common misconception that what core is present on your machine dictates what you will be sent, it has nothing to do with it. The assignment server decides what you're getting based on your hardware and your history and that's all there is to it, if you don't have what is needed to run what the assignment server sends you, voila, it is sent to you as well.

So yup, let the dreaded 762x's finish like a good trooper, curse them soundly and say a couple begone with thee's as the finished results are uploading and when you're back to friendlier stuff, replace 2.25 with 2.22 to get back to better and more familiar speeds.

Now, why 8018 is sitting there doing nothing has nothing directly to do with the above; stop the client and restart it, should be fine after that, I have no explanation.
