We did, unfortunately. I'd have made you a tidy sum if monkeytrots hadn't chickened out. (At one point, I was willing to give you ALL of the loser's money - so long as I'd be getting monkey's account as a trophy.) *sigh* It would have been nice, but monkey, who is a bully but not a particularly DUMB bully, figured out that there was probably a reason why I was so confident. He knew he was lying, and he realized at some point that the bet would screw him over royally. More's the pity.
The guy told some mean-spirited lies about me, figuring that they couldn't be disproven. He thought you'd purged all the old posts and that he was therefore free to make whatever scummy claims he wanted. He slunk away when I called him on it, noted that the truth COULD be revealed, and insisted we both put up serious money as well as our accounts on your system. And pay you enough to make settling a stupid bet worth your time.
Offering to make you the bet's monetary winner was no skin off of my back. I *like* helping you support this site. And I knew I couldn't lose.
I'm apparently now on monkey's "ignore" list. I guess something good came out of it after all!
