WMT's a parasite, killing local Mom n Pops... Conniving management that works to make sure it's workers remain poor, then helps them file for food stamps, etc... rather than pay them a decent wage... I won't go in 'em if any other option is around, the last time was in Page, AZ, needed a Little Ben alarm clock.. No other store in town only WalMart... then the alarm clock is a Chinese knock-off, but it works, lives in the trailer.. We had an early launch time on the lake, didn't have iPhones at the time.. Gave me the willies to even walk into the place...

During the drive-time yesterday I heard someone make an interesting claim, which I have to admit I've not yet been able to verify, and that is that something like 25% of the families which are going to have to depend on Food Stamps for at least part of their Thanksgiving Day dinner, that one or more adult member of those families is currently working for WalMart.

Also, there was a quote that on average, the net financial impact to local municipalities where a WalMart store has been opened, in terms of tax breaks, added infrastructure expenses, additional police and emergency service costs, etc., is something over $400,000 annually.
