I'm not sure I would go with the Powell as the face of the US in the middle east. All those darn m.e. wars of which he has been variably involved seems like the wrong face for the liaison to arab spring. but I don't live there. I have no idea what his street cred is in that whole part of the world. methinks he projects too much iraq-bush-etc to be the head diplomat. time to move on.
the one i liked was robert gates so i suppose he is the model for the defense secretary i am thinking about. powell might be a good choice to replace hillary clinton.
