I still maintain the Republican party would do better to move away from the agendas of the republican base. The teaparty/neocon part of America can only be competitive regionally, and while the GOP might suffer short term, their platform needs to begin to address the American people from positions of intelligence and social tolerance. This is the only way to gain the respect and support of the middle. And the middle is what elects presidents.

This letter to the Republican Party from a taxpaying, job creating, white guy makes more than a few salient points.
