We don't speak of this much. However, there is a tombstone of my great grandfather on my dad's side with him being born here in southern Illinois in 1844. The tombstones back beyond that are weathered and unreadable.

On mom's side we go back to 1607 and the first ship at Jamestown! The ancestor there was no one of any particular importance but he survived the first winter and propagated!

Regards,

Joe

To say that "God exists" is the greatest understatement ever made across space and time.

And we're glad to have you!!

Happy Vets Day, by the way! Local small town Vets Parade had 30,000 viewers yesterday, thundering WWII aircraft flyovers, great one...

Yep, you have us all beat, my Danish side I can see back to 1844 when they came to SF, other side, came in via NY, but later from what I can tell, the rush was on, they moved on to Montana, California... I have some studio taken family photos from NYC photographers, but no way to know where they actually lived, there or nearby... And no one left to ask! So more research needed..

Dad tossed a ton of old glass photo negatives sometime after I left home, today I could have scanned, cleaned them up, maybe had more clues to the past, gone....
