hi tkc,

isn't the problem that they can't count?

They can count, and they clearly see the demographics going against them. They know they must attract more blacks, hispanics and women. They can't give up pro-life/anti-abortion stance as they'll lose the religious right. I suspect they'll attempt to be mute on that. Maybe they'll finally agree global warming is real, that wouldn't hurt too much - or help much either. The Dems will compromise on SS & medicare so that won't be there. Of course they'll seek lower taxes, smaller government and deregulation. By 2016 we should be more energy independent. They'll need the economy to drag or fall, unemployment remain stagnant. Of course I'm way ahead of myself here as so much depends on their stance on the fiscal cliff. But as of now I think they are between the proverbial rock and a hard place. Is it possible that GOP moderates will take back their party from the Neocons?
