Hi D&O,

Agreed other than the left-right equivalence. The Dems are astride the middle these days and that's a great place to be. Still digging out of Bush's mess, of course.

I get quite the chuckle reading articles where the GOP is analyzing what went wrong. And where liberals are telling them what they did wrong.

Instead, they ought to try letting folks like me tell them what they did (and have BEEN DOING) wrong.

There's probably a few million of us. Once upon a time Republicans, some of us for many decades. But so repulsed in the last decade or so that we now shun the party with equal vigor to the main alternative. And throw votes away in protest, using whatever third party or write in strikes our fancy.

Yep, I can give them a laundry list of why they lost me after forty some years. As a former, my reasons might give them more insight than a hard right insider can, or a far left liberal that would have never gone into the fold no matter what.

Too bad the center left and center right can't figure out a way to move forward in divorce of their parties. We'd be far better off for it. But it ain't gonna happen. As my brother and I have said for years "It's over."

Back to my hidey hole.

D&O
