ArVee. Both my desktops have received 762x's. One a 7623; the other a 7624. In your msg to which I'm replying you say this causes a slowdown and they don't go away. Any advice? I have no idea what a V2.22 is.

Hold on. The 7624 is just ending. A 8057 is waiting in line! The other machine which has a 7623 won't end for another 7+ hours and has never gotten a 8057. I tried to set the machine for "client-type beta" but am not sure. (It's 8:30am) Should I just wait it out?

The core software does the actual crankin'. You've likely seen the files, on the cpu side they're Core a_3 and Core a_4 more recently.

VGolf and I have been batting around the gpu core side. Older versions are Core_11, more recent is Core_15. Stanford is doing some internal testing and have allowed out a Core_15 which is v2.25 . It's needed to run the 762x series and half of the problem with it is whatever Stanford is having it do in their internal testing is also making things run a lot slower. The other half of the problem is once you've got it it stays there. So whenever I get a dreaded 762x WU I process it like a good soldier then go back in and replace v2.25 with v2.22 so I get my old good speeds back. I'm serious, the new core is 50% slower.

And you know what, Sun? I've just realized that if you've got gpu's that aren't later than the 8800's and 9800's, you're still back on Core_11 anyway and you don't even have to think about any of this now. If that's the case we can just leave it there. If not, come on back and we can discuss the best way to get you the desired original v2.22 Core_15 version.
