i say it won't matter due to rules changes.

but mcconnell is a disaster for the country. a method actor in the kabuki theatre. if filibusters remain absolute and entrenched at 60, the us will be ungovernable forever. these kinds of rules were meant to be for special circumstances. mcconnell used them to frustrate government thuggishly across the board. so, yes, he should go.

but if he doesn't, it won't matter. rule change. and in fact, i will be very excited to see a (small c) constitutional change which makes it easier to make mistakes, but also to progress at an accelerated speed. the senate is surely not meant to stymie democracy.

Boehner and Ryan. Ryan chairs budget and now everybody knows his name. He will be well-reported with everything he says. He will seek to put himself in a strong position politically going forward. Boehner has always been a weak speaker IMO, others certainly know better than I, so it will be Boehner and Ryan. Screw Cantor.

It still will come down to the Senate minority leader. I would think there would be a change at that position if the party is able to recognize defeat. He is divisive, he is essentially serving in the wrong chamber given his rhetoric, and has no credibility as one who seeks solutions. He seeks only ideology.

How about Sen Coats for minority leader (fat chance).
