reid is surely going to make mcconnell's filibuster irrelevant. so it has to be boehner for practical purposes.

in o's shoes, tax rates are not part of negotiations. he won election on that. but he can probably put something together so boehner doesn't look too bad. cuts to medicare cost increases over ten years. something like this. this has to happen. but push much of the pain back a few years until the economy recovers further. in return, o gets his jobs bill.

Good morning Cactus Flower,

Now I'm wondering who the leader of the republican party is, Boehner?

Boehner has an opportunity, he can tell (Cantor, his brand) was toasted in the election & Cantor needs to herd the tea party to follow Boehner's lead.
Boehner is probably the most moderate to make a deal with, as long as he can get the cats to stay in line.

I certainly hope Obama holds tough, raise top tax rates.
