"let a new philosophy derive from reality rather than try to conform reality to theory"

I agree.........Smile

In the double slit experiment data was taken
at the slits and at the screen....both points
of data is equal to one whole set.

100 sets of data was obtained by performing the
experiment 100 times. Both points of each set of
data was stored in separate envelopes and each
set stored in a further envelope....ie one envelope
contains two smaller envelopes each containing
one set of data,an envelope containing data
at the slit and an envelope containing data
at the screen.

The data was locked away in a vault unseen for a year...

After a year envelopes 1 and 100 were opened,each
containing the two smaller envelopes, both sets
of data confirmed that electrons behaved as particles
of matter.

The remaining 98 sets of data were randomly split
into two piles of 49 envelopes each. One pile of 49
envelopes was opened, and the envelopes containing
the data taken at the slits were destroyed without
anybody looking, the envelopes containing the data
at the screen were kept unopened.

The 49 sets of envelopes that still contained both
points of data, slit and screen, were then opened
and scientists discovered that all of them showed
that electrons behaved like particles.

The 49 sets of envelopes where the slit data
was destroyed were then opened and the data at the
screen showed that electrons behaved not as
particles but as Waves.

This was again proven 90 odd years later in
the Quantum Eraser experiment.....

But science still conforms to the theory that
matter is real rather than an illusion, even
when proven for 100 years!

O well.......Smile

hi dig,

nice post.

i think it goes deeper. they need to begin with facts and work upwards.

the old intellectual underpinnings have gone. so the next step is to move away from principle and towards pragmatism. what works?

let a new philosophy derive from reality rather than try to conform reality to theory. they can still lean towards individualism but they need to reconcile themselves to the need for government.
