The blindness to pure math (facts) is jolting.

The day of the election I was sitting with a customer from VA who came down for two reasons, an appt with me and to watch the election results with a friend. She voted for Romney and told me she had been saying since March Romney was going to win in a landslide. This woman isn't an idiot, but clearly does not avail herself of the NY Times, the Washington Post or The Atlantic. It scares me the number of people who rely on Fox, Rush and Drudge for their information. It's hard for me to get my head around that.

However, many of my liberal leaning friends were worried, especially if they were in very red country. I kept saying (and emailing links to Nate Silver) the numbers tell the story. One friend said to me, "Too many numbers and lines for me. Does it show the good guy winning?" LOL

So, it may be reasonable to conclude that a good many people do not understand the science of aggregating polls and weighting them. Not just the "bad" guys.
;-)
