when a godless place like new york is assaulted by nature, it is the wrath of god against the gays, atheists or whatever. so not satan.

when a god-fearing, fundamentalist place is destroyed, then it is satan's work.

god and satan are pretty careful about their us politics. but clearly, they both exist to smite the other lot every now and again. with ole pat as the arbiter of who did what to whom and when.
