okay. this is where i don't get the right.

i presume you are talking about the deficit when you fear disaster.

yet romney plans to lower taxes by 20% and can find no explanation for how he will balance his budget while doing so. unadjusted, this is a $5tn increase to the deficit over 10 years.

he also wants to add $2tn to defense expenditures.

so you get a bigger deficit with romney. yet obama is the person you fear.

if the problem is indebtedness, the bush tax model created the mess. the gop won't allow any change that increases revenue. so the deficit gets bigger.

it is clear, the gop is the author of the deficit.

but obama is the person you fear.

doesn't compute for me. it was this kind of stuff that made me run screaming from the right. can't see why a sentient, coolly eccentric guy like you falls in line. it just seems obviously muddled.

correct as far as i think obama's economic policies will lead to a disaster from which the world may not recover. that is by far the overriding issue for me. both republicans and democrats have been taking turns kicking the can down the road but it looks to me end of the road is near. romney may give us more time.

i want the smallest government and the most individual liberty possible. what government is necessary should be done by the lowest level of government possible.

i am in favor of strong defense but not nation building, not a continual U S military presence throughout the world and certainly not a perpetual state of undeclared war.

there are no good choices in this (or any) election. in my view romney will just do far less damage to the economy but we're pretty much screwed no matter who wins.
