i see that on the surface they are similar.
but my wiring is an evolutionary/biological thing.
whereas your programming comes from dynamic intervention, i think.
beyond this, i agree with your post - parents do influence group prejudices. but we also amend our thoughts as we become adult.
it is the dehumanising treatment of non-group members that is most striking. watch an old hollywood film and see how the injuns are treated. then watch something like dances with wolves, which tends to see america's plains peoples as in harmony with nature.
the difference is striking. first, these people are intrinsically wicked. every death is a good one. none of them have families. they get shot off a horse and that's that. then, suddenly, these folks feel happiness and grief, have sympathy, seek wisdom.
what happened? their treatment within the amygdala. whether they are the in group or the out one.
how much of every position a person takes is simply the expression of their amygdala? i'd say, a helluva lot. humans are group labelling machines.
