Illinois is conceded to Obama and it should be. It is his "home" state and he won it by a huge margin in 2008. The Governor, both houses of the legislature and the Mayor of Chicago are all controlled by the Democrats.

The Democratic party drew the new congressional map for the 2012 election. It was designed to insure six districts would be "competitive' but would favor the Democrats.

Republicans are ahead in polls in five of the six districts and tied in the other.

No one is polling Illinois in the Presidential race and neither party is spending much time or money in the state since it assumed to be automatic for the President.

I don't know what will happen in Illinois. Take away Chicago and the suburbs and Illinois is Indiana. The suburbs seem to be shifting back to the Republicans. I know personally about 20 voters in the suburbs that voted for Obama in 2008 that are voting for Romney this year. I don't know anyone that voted for McCann in 2008 that is voting for Obama.

Not much of a sample. Take it for what its worth. If I was certain Romney would win I would write in Ron Paul but for now I am voting for Romney.
