Dig,

Your post on Hillary gave me chills.

Like you, I wasn't crazy about her to begin with.

I/We watched her betrayed by Bill, then 'stoned' by thousands/millions & she carried herself with strength!

Not long after she decided to run for senator of NY. Many thought she didn't have a chance, especially against Rudy Giulaini.
Yet she traveled the state on a 'listening tour' and gained respect from many of us (I live in NY)
Rudy had cancer & backed out.

Her next opponent, got into her space during their debate & Hillary won with a landslide.

The way she survived being first lady & becoming NY senator, made her viable to be POTUS.

When she ran against Obama, at first she seemed entitled. But then she was in for the fight of her political life & she NEVER GAVE UP! even when she knew her only chance was in the hands of the Super Delagates & they preferred O.
I didn't think he had enough experience, thought he was reaching too early.
I was sooo upset that he won the primary, for a brief time I didn't know if I could vote FOR him.

After licking my wounds & watching Hillary speak & support Obama in full throat, well she won me over for him ;))

I think Bill & Hillary are the smartest politicians of my lifetime. I enjoy listening to both of them discuss ANY topic.

As you stated so well, what a story!

clo, I will probably stir some feathers here ....

Ms. Clinton can take care of herself,

she suffered the absolute quadramensional nuclear assault of the right during the second half of the 1990s.

Of the 7 billion humans on this planet, about 20 might be expected to walk out of that alive. It was withering.

I have never been a HRC fan at all, seriously, I just haven't been. Always pushed my arrogant b!@# buttons. Likely some component of chauvinism in me.

But she took fire from every angle known to man, and woman, in a protracted, unholy, awful way, ... the culmination of some sort of self-hatred victim status of so many directed purely at her ... in this the display of the Right can only be described as medieval.

All fail when such a salvo strikes, well, 6,999,999,980 fail, ... 20 manage to walk out of it.

So, I, FWIW, now have HRCs back (with my one vote, on pretty much anything) and again, I am just not much of a fan. But I do have an abacus, and a thermometer, I can more or less figure out things like the boiling point of water, but I cannot easily explain her survival.

I mean what is the list that the holey offered:
sexually attractive? crucified
anti-family? crucified
anti-american? crucified
commie? yup, crucified
misassigned gender? crucified
effective lawyer? crucified
insider? crucified
outsider? crucified
jew? she must be
devil? o certainly
lesbian? yup
arrogant bitch? of course
evil snake? duh, everybody knows that
and then on policy from all angles ... again, just a withering attack.

People sometimes ask who one might want to have lunch with, Micahel Jordan, Nelson Mandela, Ronald Reagan, Mother Theresa, .... for me, I would want a weekend with HRC .... jeesus friggin criminey, that human has seen some poop (and a hubby putting the cherry on the pie of indignity).

Wow.

And yet she serves and leads to IMO, the best of her capacity. Really really remarkable. The last person alive I ever thought I would deeply admire.

I admire few.

I am, or course, the center of the universe, and suffer no obligation to admire anybody. But HRC, ... lets be serious, what a story. Makes MLK look lke a cake walk.
