hi clo,

well, we differ on this. premature babies deserve a shot, if a hospital can give it to them. i set my bar for voluntary abortion somewhere in the 10-13 weeks zone, long before this is an issue. that's enough time to make a choice and to avoid making decisions of the type you invite. indeed, that is exactly why i set the bar much earlier. after the 10-13 week threshold, i'd permit abortion only on medical grounds (mainly, life of the mother). and once there is hope of viability, seek to save a life.

if a person does not make a choice in 10-13 weeks - which is enough time - i think adoption is the best option available.

Hi Cactus Flower,

I also wonder about infants born extremely premature, some merely a pound.

When I look at that without emotional envolvement, I think they become human experiments.

And extreme measures often leave an infant with many handicaps, and parents responsible, financially & physically, forever. A terrible situation.
Who wins? who has a life worth living?
