A person to be wary of in the shadows though is Former House Democratic leader Dick Gephardt. Gephardt is a board member of Amerilink Telecom, an American distributor of products made by Huawei Technologies. "Ironically" as a congressman he was also against giving favored nation status to China and expanding it's trade opportunities in the US. He warned that trade with China would support the Chinese Army.

Those who live in Missouri's 3rd congressional district which Gephardt formerly represented and is now representetd by John Russell "Russ" Carnahan may want to make their voices heard that any favortism shown by Congressman Carnahan to Huawei exposes an obvious cronyism towards Gephardt in spite of the threat to the United States as the House Intelligence Committee believes.

CORRECTION: Missouri's 3rd district has been eliminated and Carnaham lost his primary for the redrawn 1st district on August 7 2012. Concerns can now be directed towards Democrat Lacy Cray.
