There are extremes in every religion.
I find some born again fundamentalists are very scary.
As a woman, born into a Catholic family, attended parochial school, mother of three, grandmother of five, as an adult I am opposed to 'religion'.
Its a form of control, gives too much power to 'men' many flawed.
I try to live a daily spiritual loving life.
Its great, I was fearful many years of my life, now I am free from that type of scare tactics.
