as the ballot box approaches, I don't think Obama talking about Big Bird and Romney talking about hope and freedom is a reflection of narrative control.

I have little familiarity with Team Obama outside of narrative control. Nobody stays on message more than Carville, Axelrod and Rove. These are the folks with the w's notched into their belts going back for 2 decades.

Currently, Team Obama, for the first time in many respects, is responding to a narrative rather than dictating one.

DS map Obama 275, Mitt 263.

exceptions: 1) Loius Farakan, the toed a thin line successfully 2) the birther thingy it wasn't their narrative, they judged it would be net neutral or work in their favor if simply allowed to fester. 3) the rare glitch "cling to guns and religion" ... i do not know how they managed to slip out of under that and win, e.g. IA as well as they did.

But this one, letting some dude beat you up in an alley and take your wallet? Its a real challenge.
