was the fact he was shocked by romney's changes of position away from the far right policies he has adopted until now.

for instance,

romney's tax plan was a 20% across the board reduction. during the debate, he added a caveat to that: the new rule that romney won't add to the deficit. cute. but if you are a republican, you just lost your tax cuts.

romney said he favours guaranteeing coverage for pre-existing conditions. that isn't what he actually says in his written health plan. under romney you only keep your coverage if you change jobs.

so yes, we have learned once again that romney is an etch a sketch candidate who believes in nothing and will say anything. that will be made plain going forwards.
