Joe,

The optics are what mattered last night.

I thought Jim Lehrer was terrible as a moderator, he too allowed Muffin to control the night.

8 changed to Romney and 8 changed to Obama!

Also, in the flash poll that they did, president Obama's favorables were unchanged while Romney's went up two points.

Our assessment here is that little changed from this debate except that some undecideds made up their minds for one candidate or the other thus reducing the number of undecideds, which was already low to start with!

While this debate may look like a Romney win at first blush, a later take may not reveal it to be so because so much of what Romney said was an absolute lie and a distortion of the truth. There is great fodder here for the political commercial mill. Obama did not really attack Romney on the 47 percent or Bain capital once because the campaign thought that voters did not want to hear that. However, Romney's lies can be dissected and picked apart for days after this debate has ended.

IOVHO,

Regards,

Joe
