Hi V-Golf!

One thing about that Tweaker from Asus is that the newer version do not have the ability to turn off 2D clocking because they don't allow it to begin with.

The older clients have both 2D and 3D clocking and you can turn off the 2D clocking on those.
I probably should have posted that.

Yes, it has some different quirks.

I also discovered by turning down the voltage on my GTX 460 to stock and barely overclocking the SHADERS, not the memory, (for some reason the shaders and core clocked are locked together and not separable) the card does NOT 2D clock using Precision Tune.

One last thing you can do is to: with folding client running just re-start the computer. That should re start the clock on the video card and sometimes has success in getting it off the 2D clocking and back onto 3D clocking.

Keep us posted if you get time!

The best,

micro...

Micro,

I am not sure that the 2D/3G was my issue, but that ASUS GPU Tweak seems to have gotten me back on the right track. Truly, the only difference I have found with this software is that it has allowed me to up my core clock further than I was able to previously. Not sure if that is a product of the software or the new MOBO. Also, I do NOT have the 2D/3D option even available in this software, not sure what the deal is on that - it only states that some GTX6XX series cards aren't compatible, so I assume the 465 I am running should be, but I see nothing.

Right now I am showing:

GTX465 @ 17271 ppd
AMD 6-core @ 6275 ppd
8800GT @ 5545 ppd
other cpu @ 274 ppd

Definitely better than before, I just don't know why. One thing I think affected this, was the hfm.net monitoring tool itself. It seems to not like the fact that some of these clients are under the new v7 f@h client control program, and some are not - it doesn't like trying to calculate points based on different timings. That seems to have worked itself out for now, but there a lot of similar inquiries to this when googled.....

In fact, I think this new v7 client might be causing some hiccups as well. Right now in fact, the taskbar icon shows it as 'inactive' as though it is not folding. Yet ny CPU is pegged at 100%, my fah log is showing normal frame times, and even hfm.net shows it cranking away. Maybe they still have some bugs to work out on this mew client, dunno.....
