The ASUS Tweak tuner works.

Also, simply turning down the voltage to stock on the card worked. I can't go jumping the shaders up just yet because I want to let it run all night.

But, BOTH methods do work.

The drawback with the new version of Asus is that I could not find a way to adjust the shaders, only the core clock.

So you might want to check an older version of that Tweak tuner.

I would get this solely for the 2D lockout, it happens here on all the better cards seemingly without pattern or reason. I'll wait while you play and report. Time limit though, weekend's around the corner and I probably won't be able to stop myself. ;-) Thanks for the headsup!
