Dig re: income tax deductions. I'd like to see parity applied to employer paid health insurance. For example require any amount paid over simple catastrophic plan be considered income. Medicare deducts it's payment from SS checks but it is considered as income for tax purposes. It's unfair that some companies cover their employees w/ blue chip plans w/ no employee costs while others only provide the barest of coverage and claw back a part of that. Taxing the difference would help level the playing field while growing federal revenue.

things like child tax credit and mortgage insurance deduction are stupid, but I do not know how to unwind them (particularly the mortgage thingy). Non-birthing renters should not be subsidizing me, but again, I don't know how housing valuation and contruction would hold up to unwinding the mort-deduction ...perhaps means test the mort-deduction ... I believe they already means test the child credit.
