Another lovely week of pathetic officiating. I wonder how many weeks it will take to straighten out NFL football even after the regular refs return. Goodell better fine himself and the owners for actions detrimental to the game.

Browns +12 1/2 at RAVENS **

Baltimore coming off a short week (Sunday night to Thursday) after an emotional win over the Patriots due to an official's misinterpretation of what an over-the-uprights field goal is.

Redskins +3 at BUCCANEERS ***

Redskins lost two defensive stars to injury two weeks ago, but Tampa looks too dull to take advantage. Go with RGIII to score enough to cover. Tampa ran up 166 yards of total offense last week.

Giants +2 at EAGLES *****

Confident and potent Giants versus error-prone and harried Mike Vick. Should be an easy win unless Philadelphia suddenly awakes.

The current betting line:

Last Week: 2-2-0, +4 Stars
This Year : 4-4-0, +6 Stars (+$600 - $70 vig = $530 net)

Another week of losers and referees flopping all over themselves. Should be a fierce battle for #1 choice in next year's draft, But KC might have a leg up with Romeo Krennel's ten-years-out-of date, two-gap, 3-4 defense being the joke of the league.

Texans -2 at BRONCOS *****

Might as well stick with impressive Houston who have given up only 8.5 points per game despite losing two defensive pro-bowlers to free agency while scoring 28.5. Some are questioning whether Payton is 100% back physically.

Buccaneers +8 at COWBOYS *

Tampa Bay has shown toughness that Dallas lacked in Seattle last week. Talent favors Cowboys, but character favors the improved Bucs.

Lions -3.5 at TITANS *

Titans actively seeking entrance into the ACC where they may be able to compete. Lions have lots of injuries so should enjoy the week off in Tennessee.

RAVENS -3 vs Patriots *

Hate to bet against my home team, but Pats unable to protect Tom Brady. (Too cheap to sign pro-bowl guard Brian Waters or give Wes Welker a contract). Pats 16-2 after a loss.

Last Week: 2-2-0, +2 Stars
This Year : 2-2-0, +2 Stars (+$200 - $50 vig = $150 net)
