Bronx Mother Was Killed by Jilted Ex-Lover: Family

The family of a Bronx woman who was shot in the head and killed on a Bronx street corner Tuesday believe it was a jilted ex-lover who murdered the mother of two.
Kenia Castillo-Reyes, 43, was outside her apartment near Coster Street and Spofford Avenue in the Hunts Point neighborhood when she got into an argument at about 4 p.m. with a man described as a former boyfriend.
The man, who police have not named, shot her point-blank in the head four times and then ran away.
She died at Lincoln Hospital.
Castillo-Reyes' 17-year-old son Kevin pleaded Wednesday for her mother's killer to turn himself in.
"Do what you've gotta do. They're going to find you," said Kevin. "It's not worth it. You took my mom away from me, just turn yourself in."
The teen, who wasn't home at the time of the shooting, said the man was "obsessed" with his mother.
As police continue to search for the suspect, Castillo-Reyes' family were grieving.
"She was awesome. She was always worried, she was always on top of her things. She always just made sure we were fed, we were good," said Kevin before choking up.
