"Obama and Romney traded shots in interviews aired Sunday on CBS's "60 Minutes" with Romney saying Obama hasn't supported Israel strongly enough and Obama asking if Romney was trying to start a war in the region.
Romney said that Obama was making a "mistake" by not meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during this week's meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.
"It sends a message throughout the Middle East that somehow we distance ourselves from our friends," Romney said.
Asked about Romney's comments, Obama said on the same program that he had "executed on my foreign policy."
"So if Governor Romney is suggesting that we start another war, he should say so."
Obama was asked if he felt pressure from Netanyahu to change his policy and draw a line in the sand when it comes to Iran's nuclear program.
"When it comes to our national security decisions any pressure that I feel is simply to do what's right for the American people, and I am going to block out any noise that's out there," Obama said."
