hi clo,

take it all with a grain of salt.

admission is just something they don't do in real time.

but see the fellow who ran the mccain campaign tell his tale now- steve schmidt. nice bloke. he makes it evident that they knew they had a disaster on their hands with palin. but they couldn't admit it until after it was over.

the truth will seep out later. but these stories of disarray and the need for a reboot result from conversations with and within the campaign.

mitt and his campaign know. they are not so foolish as to rely on gallup. they will simply point to gallup to put the bravest face on things that they can.

they know they are looking at a disaster. and they'll hope they can find a way to change the narrative between now and the election. i daresay they could make things much closer if they pursue a new angle. just not sure what that might be myself, within a gop that is fractured between a variety of competing groups with different ideas of what to do.

if anything, romney's adherence to right wing doctrine has blown up his campaign. but will the psychos on the far right see it that way? of course not. they will demand greater doctrinal purity: go further towards anti-government, pro-military, pro-1% ideas! that's what the electorate wants. that's the sound you hear emanating from the right wing bubble.

world gone mad.

Hi Cactus Flower,

I agree, Gallup has been screwy this election.
They seem to be in step with Rasmussen.

I watched many of the Sunday political shows.
On Meet the Press, the panel included Joe Scarborough, Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, DeeDee Myers & Bay Buchanan.
Mostly republicans, yet Bay acted as if she was in the ring with democrats & was fighting the group to prove Mitt was right on the issues & his campaign was in good shape. She was spinning as fast as she could & looked like a lunatic, as the republicans were offering solid suggestions to help Mitt.

Mitt will be on 60 Minutes tonight.
A snippet aired, he also sees NO reason to reset his campaign, feels he is tied with the POTUS & is doing just fine.
Delusional....
