Another week of losers and referees flopping all over themselves. Should be a fierce battle for #1 choice in next year's draft, But KC might have a leg up with Romeo Krennel's ten-years-out-of date, two-gap, 3-4 defense being the joke of the league.

Texans -2 at BRONCOS *****

Might as well stick with impressive Houston who have given up only 8.5 points per game despite losing two defensive pro-bowlers to free agency while scoring 28.5. Some are questioning whether Payton is 100% back physically.

Buccaneers +8 at COWBOYS *

Tampa Bay has shown toughness that Dallas lacked in Seattle last week. Talent favors Cowboys, but character favors the improved Bucs.

Lions -3.5 at TITANS *

Titans actively seeking entrance into the ACC where they may be able to compete. Lions have lots of injuries so should enjoy the week off in Tennessee.

RAVENS -3 vs Patriots *

Hate to bet against my home team, but Pats unable to protect Tom Brady. (Too cheap to sign pro-bowl guard Brian Waters or give Wes Welker a contract). Pats 16-2 after a loss.

Last Week: 2-2-0, +2 Stars
This Year : 2-2-0, +2 Stars (+$200 - $50 vig = $150 net)

Bet! Bet! Bet! Bookies need your money.

Week 2 is usually the easiest week of the year. Oddsmakers don't seem to have a great handle on the teams, their new personnel, or injuries. I may even bet real money this week after mind-picking four out of four losers in the past week. Chicago sent carnival clowns rather than football players to Green Bay on Thursday.

The picks. Each star equals one betting unit ($110-100 in my case). Home teams in caps.

Texans -7 at JAGUARS ****

Highly touted Texans face off against weak, already injury ravaged Jacksonville in what should be a rout.

Redskins -3 1/2 at RAMS **

Why not! Washington and RGIII looked terrific last week. Rams appear to have little again this year, especially if they can't protect QB Sam Bradford.

Ravens +2 1/2 at EAGLES ***

This spread looks inverted. Ravens should be favored. Vick (4 interceptions) looked rusty after taking only 12 snaps in the exhibition season while sneaking by Cleveland 17-16 last week. Ravens with Joe Flacko and their new no-huddle offense were impressive.

Chiefs +3 at BILLS ***

Both teams unexpectedly got trounced last week. The difference is the Chiefs get inactive defensive players back, while the Bills lose a starting running back and a starting wide receiver.

Last Week: 0-0-0, Zero Stars
This Year: 0-0-0, Zero Stars
