Disagree CF, a more moderate nominee might have won giving the far right control of the House and the Senate, with a majority Court. The far right would govern eliminating, greatly reducing or "privatizing" most progressive programs. It would be a disaster - riots in the streets. No, I'm happy w/ mittens. Furthermore, w/ changing demographics the GOP will have to move towards the center in time for 2016 to have a chance. Mitt's been a savior.

the sad thing is that the republicans didn't put one of their puritans at the top of the ticket. only that will lead to a rethink. until then, they will just blame the fact that romney failed the purity test.

i was hoping for a rick santorum, sarah palin or ron paul gotterdamerung. something that would provide an excuse to clean house and start again closer to the middle. instead, they offer no choice to independent voters.
