A Woot-off! is underway!
It's been a long time since my family landed a Bag-Of-Crap, but hope springs eternal. Maybe this time.
The last Woot-off! failed to have a Bag-Of-Crap. That's unusual but not unprecedented. Some Woot-off!s have had multiple BOCs.
The consensus among those who post to Woot's message board is that the quality of the bargains offered by Woot has gone downhill since Amazon acquired them. That makes sense. One of the first things many people do when something interesting appears in a Woot-off! is to google it and see what it sells for elsewhere. What's the #1 source for such things? Why, Amazon of course!
So now that Amazon owns Woot!, it's becoming rare for Woot! to put up anything that's selling for less than on Amazon. Amazon doesn't want to be competing with itself.
Too bad. Woot! used to be a lot of fun, and even the non-BOC items were often great deals. Perhaps a new Woot! will fill the niche Woot! has seemingly abandoned.
