Now just suppose Apple wanted to see to it that IDCC's IPR can't be used against them by an acquirer. They could license LTE long term, encumbering them and making them useless as a weapon. IDCC wants their core IPR encumbered. As much as possible.
What's a paid up LTE license worth for Apple?
My swag is 1B. We'll throw in early access to new technology and design right into their hardware, just the way they like it.
Or they could take a 20% interest.
