I don't know what all the government measures, and how they weight it. I have my own numbers. It's "called" my personal cost of living. I mentioned some of the examples in the previous post.

I guess I need to buy a half price house in Vegas, and a new, on sale television. Then I can feel like I've purchased something this decade that actually went down (or at least didn't go up) in price.

I know that my cost of living is quickly going up, without changing my life style a bit. Even though "official" inflation is almost non existent.

I must be an odd duck.

hi doma,

this is what always happens when the numbers don't support an argument. the person making the argument says the numbers aren't reliable.

but if the numbers aren't reliable, your argument is no better than mine!

also, innovation basically requires some amount of change in the composition of the index.
