I swapped the video cards this morning.
The one that was in the troublesome computer in the spare office I now have running smoothly in MY COMPUTER.
The one that was in my computer and working just fine I cannot get the spare computer to even recognize there is a new video card in the PCI X 16 slot.
I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled new ones.
I cleared the c-mos and made sure the video in the BIOS was set to PEG setting for video card slot recognition (that is the pci express slot).
Still no success.
I am now thinking the PCI X 16 slot is BAD. That would explain a lot.
It acted up a lot on the GTX 550 Ti and I took that home and brought the GTX 460 here to replace that and have never had much success with it at all.
Now the motherboard won't even recognize it.
So, I am thinking replace the motherboard.
Agree??????
thanks,
micro....
