my guess is that ads work more effectively between repubs than overall.

my broad brush notion of how things work:

- repub voters tend to be older and watch more tv.

- dems tend to be younger and tend to consume their news via new media.

so for the repubs, focussing on tv is preaching to their base.

so far in US politics I am not aware of an ad-spend backlash. Folks say they hate them, but they work. I wonder if the curve on that has a limit?

The money may just flow to the Senate campaigns, and for the most part the close Senate races are not in swing Electoral states. So they may trash Warren, but Mass is going blue for sure etc.

Nelson/Mack is the only overlap state.

The money may choose to bury Tester and try to toast McCaskill.

there are only so many hours in a day, one can only buy all of the time. Given the areas that obo is not concerned about, their granular approach may well give them enough money to compete. Team Obama is much more specific in its ad markets/placements vs Mitt's B52s.

Mitt just Nuked Newt in FL as you may recall, they are still in dioxin remediation in that corner.
