And of course the mandate, the one that Heritage and he came up with, is the necessary component to make the preexisting conditions and other such goodies fly.

Arithmetic blues. I wonder how this will play in a debate. Persons could get lost in the numbers, or see that Mitt's contradictions/numerical train-wreck are purely him saying whatever people want to hear.

Romney now claims he will support coverage of pre-existing conditions on the Sunday interview circuit.

But on Monday morning, his representative says that he means the market will provide a solution.

This guy makes me want to vomit.

He targets the independents on Sunday, sounding like a reasonable, compassionate man. And then he lets the postscript out on Monday: social darwinism.

If the market was gonna supply a solution, it would have done it. People with pre-existing conditions are bad risks. This is the whole point. The market excludes them from coverage.

So is Romney stupid? No. He knows all of this. He just wants to win votes. But there's no integrity inside that head. None. Throw the most vulnerable under a bus if he gains an advantage. This is the Romney story. A man without a normal level of human sympathy.
