That would actually make sense. But the argument I hear most often for not buying gold, is the one that I was hearing way back in 2001: Gold won't go up because it doesn't do anything… serves no purpose… has no use. Many people seem to be unable to grasp the concep that gold's fixed supply IS its use, and a very unusual and useful use at that.
