WASHINGTON -- Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La, took advantage of President Barack Obama's visit Monday to LaPlace and St. John the Baptist Parish to press him to ensure FEMA quickly completes damage assessments for Hurricane Isaac and to work for more funding for Army Corps of Engineers flood control projects. Landrieu, who joined Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. David Vitter, R-La, and others at the president's side during Monday's visit, discussed the issues with him and also gave him a letter with her requests, according to the senator's aides. The president put the letter in his pocket.
