honestly, i think it isn't a bit of both thing.

the republicans will not treat. the dems will.

the folks on the right have to moderate. the dems are no left wing party. i wish they were a bit further left and the gop occupied the current dem ground. nuff of the crazy.

Hi CF,you ask: "What the heck does America want to be?" Isn't that the problem? Under the current two options we're schizo, split. If a really bright charismatic leader could arouse independents and the middle class enough to unite in creating a centrist third party then there would be another clear option. It would probably take decades and mega bucks but that's where America is, in the middle. We're certainly not right wing conservative nor left wing liberal. There's a much better chance for the Dems to become more centrist and grow than the GOP. Whatever, it's clear to me that the majority of us hope for more centrist politicians capable of compromise. Even so, we're stuck w/ what is for some time. Sad as it is.
